Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has approved the inclusion of complicated liver surgery in the health card program in a meeting with Vice President Bahria Town International Hospital Dr. Shazia Malik, Dr. Faisal Hanif (Liver Transplant Surgeon), and Gen (R) Iftikhar (Administrator) of Bahria International Hospital were also present in the meeting.
Bahria Town International Hospital Orchard Lahore, the facility of liver surgery, is available through the health card program on behalf of the Punjab Chief Minister. It is the only hospital in the country that provides liver transplantation surgeries on a public-private partnership basis with the help of health cards.
Similarly, the health card program would also include complicated heart surgery for children. The CM said that surgery of the liver, kidney, and pancreas would be facilitated through Bahria International hospitals, while the inclusion of complicated liver surgery would further facilitate the needy patients.
