Cancer Awareness Session Organised by Begum Akhtar Rukhsana Memorial Trust & Hospital, Safari

Begum Akhtar Rukhsana Memorial Trust & Hospital (BAR MTH), Safari successfully organised a comprehensive Cancer Awareness Session on Friday, February 6, at Arena Cinema, Rawalpindi. The session aimed to educate the community about cancer prevention, early detection, and timely treatment.
The event was honoured by the presence of Commodore (R) Muhammad Ilyas, Vice Chief Executive of Bahria Town, whose participation underscored the significance of the awareness initiative.

Renowned medical professionals addressed the audience and shared valuable insights on recognising early warning signs of cancer, adopting preventive healthcare measures, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The distinguished panel of speakers included Major General (R) Arshad Mahmood, Senior Medical Director, Consultant and Lead Transplant Surgeon; Dr. Samra Qureshi, Radiation Oncologist; and DN Syed Utba Kazmi, Clinical Nutritionist.

The event commenced with guest arrivals at 9:45 AM, followed by the formal start of the session at 10:00 AM. Through informative presentations, visual awareness materials, and interactive discussions, participants were educated on various aspects of cancer care, lifestyle modification, and the importance of early medical consultation.

Attendees were offered free medical consultations along with cancer screening vouchers. Additionally, 20% discount vouchers for laboratory tests and X-rays at BAR MTH were provided to encourage timely diagnosis and follow-up care.

On-ground medical facilities were also arranged, including a complimentary Vital Desk offering blood pressure monitoring, pulse rate checks, and SpO₂ measurements.
