Karachi: Bahria Town opens doors to yet another Bahria Dastarkhwan facility in Sindh. Located in Gambat, district Khairpur, and adjacent to the Gambat Institute of Medical Science, this Bahria Dastarkhwan is nothing but a gift for the patients, their attendants, and the general public.
With a seating capacity of 350 plus people, Bahria Dastarkhwan Gambat is the largest Dastarkhwan in Sindh and will serve thousands of people daily through free service in multiple shifts at lunch and dinner time.
The setup of Bahria Dastarkhwan is in accordance with the wishes of Chairman Bahria Town Mr. Malik Riaz Hussain, who wanted to provide a facility without limiting it to any particular segment of the society and where anyone can walk in and enjoy a free meal.
Inam Ali, a resident of Gambat, said, “Due to inflation, saving any money has become impossible. I am very happy that Bahria Dastarkhwan provides free meals twice a day, this way I will be able to save and send more back home to my kids in the village”.
Comprising 1500 beds, Gambat Institute of Medical Science provides free OPD to roughly 6000 patients daily and free treatment for Kidney transplant, open heart surgery, by-pass, angiography, liver transplant, bone marrow, robotic surgery, and treatment of various cardiac diseases to the people. The provision of free meals at lunch and dinner hours in a clean and hygienic environment will further reduce the financial pressure on the people.
A visitor to the medical facility said, “We are from Kot Diji and come to Gambat for our brother’s treatment every month, which is not an easy task but today when we sat at Bahria Dastarkhwan and ate food in a nice environment, free of cost, we prayed and thanked Malik Riaz Hussain from the bottom of our heart.”
Bahria Dastarkhwan operates in more than 18 cities in Pakistan and in Sindh alone, there are already 11 operational Bahria Dastarkhwan, providing service to thousands of people on a daily basis.
