Malik Riaz Hussain Gets Humanitarian Award

Human Rights Group of Pakistan has conferred a special award to Chairman Bahria Town for his invaluable philanthropic projects

Karachi: Punjab Governor; Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar presented the award in a special event organized to mark the United Nations World Water Day in a local hotel. The award was received by Bahria Town CEO Zain Malik on behalf of Malik Riaz Hussain

Governor Sarwar congratulated Mr. Hussain & family and said that Chairman Bahria Town has played a prominent role in social work. “Successful and prominent businesses have a responsibility to serve community and Mr. Hussain is fulfilling his responsibility in a befitting manner,” he added.

The organizer of the event; Human Rights Group, highlighted and appreciated the social services of Mr. Hussain. They said Malik Riaz is the ‘human friendly aspect of the business community’.

They said Bahria Town gave Rs 200 million for the drought victims in Tharparkar as compared to Rs 100 million announced by the provincial government. More than 100,000 people are provided free meals, twice a day by Bahria Town Dastarkhwans, which have been setup across the country at 15 locations.

Speaking to the media after the event Zain Malik said Mr. Hussain was a true patriot, with deep sympathy for humanity. “His philanthropy is a reflection of his success,” he said, adding that the Bahria Dastarkhwans have been permanently set up in Tharparkar and thousands of litres of water is being provided on a daily basis while hundreds of water holes are being drilled as well to serve as a permanent solution.

Pak Oasis was awarded for their services of providing drinking water and the late Haji Abdur Razzak was awarded for his social services. The gathering was also attended by the Danish ambassador; Jasper Mollar, Human Rights Group Secretary General; Iftikhar Hussain, Dr Salim Safdar, Saleem Abbas Jilani, Commissioner Karachi; Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui and others.
